Your Hormones

Hormones are the messengers of the body; they direct all the cellular physiology of the body and help organs communicate so that the body can do all the amazing things that it does. This is an overview of some of the important hormones:

  • The Hormonal Symphony – Your hormones work together like an orchestra to create the beauty of the human body.
  • Testosterone: Men / Women
This important hormone is produced in the testes, ovaries and adrenal glands to enhance your libido, sense of well-being, energy levels, muscle development and bone strength.
  • Estrogen: Men / Women
Produced in the adrenal glands, body fat and ovaries, estrogen lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, incontinence and Alzheimer’s. In addition, sensory function, digestion, emotional well-being, skin tone, libido, cognitive acuity and mood are enhanced by proper estrogen levels.
  • DHEA
A protein builder and repairer, DHEA is produced by the adrenal glands as a precursor to testosterone, estrogens and androgens. Once therapy begins, follow-up tests for DHEA and other markers must be monitored for safety and effectiveness.
  • Progesterone: Men / Women
Helps to stimulate bone building and regulates the hormonal balance to improve sense of well-being, brain function and mood.
  • Cortisol
Formed in the adrenal glands, cortisol influences metabolism and glucose balance to help regulate blood pressure, metabolism and glucose balance in both men and women.
  • Thyroid
Hormone that is produced in the thyroid to monitor and regulate the metabolic rate of every cell.
  • HGH
Produced by the pituitary gland, this hormone stimulates body tissue growth, skin hydration, bone and muscle growth, and regulates the metabolism and energy levels. Only prescribed when testing reveals an adult deficiency.
